Pet-Friendly Activities and Attractions

Gypsy Hill Bark Park

The Gypsy Hill Bark Park features separate areas for both small and large dogs, along with plenty of space and amenities to keep your furry friend active and entertained. All dogs must be currently licensed and vaccinated to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.

Coyner Springs Dog Park

Coyner Springs Dog Park is perfect for a picnic, a stroll through the nature trails, or even a round on the 9-hole disc golf course. There’s also a leash-free dog park and plenty of open space that’s great for flying kites or going for a walk or jog.

Shenandoah National Park

Shenandoah National Park is actually one of the few national parks that lets you bring your pets on the trails. They do have some rules in place to help protect the park, other visitors, and of course, your pet—but it’s all so you can enjoy the experience together.

George Washington and Jefferson National Park features a Bark Camp Recreation Area

Bark Camp Recreation Area offers a day-use area and campground beside a 45-acre lake stocked with rainbow trout. Visitors can enjoy a scenic three-mile shoreline trail, an open-air amphitheater, a hike to “Kitchen Rock,” and accessible fishing piers and picnic spots.
